After six months off our screens, The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives is back and the season two trailer promises even more swinging shocks, pregnancies and a betrayal that threatens to shatter the sisterhood.

If you’ve been living under a rock, allow us to catch you up on the #MomTok influencers who have taken Disney+ by storm.

Back in 2021, the Salt Lake City Mormon wives started a social media movement showing a different side to what many think the religion entails, racking up millions of views on TikTok videos of them dancing and twerking.

But the spotlight fully shone on the group when it emerged that the members of the sisterhood were caught up in a swinging scandal with each other’s husbands.

Fast forward to 2024 and the couples opened up the doors to their relationships to bring us one of the most dramatic reality TV shows in recent memory.

Airing on Hulu in the US and Disney+ here in the UK, the show racked up huge viewing figures, surpassing both The Bachelor and The Kardashians on the platforms.

And now, the wives are back for what promises to be an even more dramatic season.

In the trailer for the second season, Whitney Leavitt cryptically says on the status of the friendship group, ‘They’re holding grudges because, I don’t even know why.’

A clip then shows Dakota Mortensen telling his partner Taylor Frankie Paul, ‘I don’t want to fight with you,’ to which she cuttingly responds, ‘Then don’t.’

After leaving us in suspense at the end of season one by being left on the rocks, we see Jen Affleck smiling at her husband Zac – who is Ben Affleck’s second cousin – as she stands with a bouquet of roses. (Spoiler alert: Jen and Zac are back on track and announced last month they are expecting their third child.)

‘#MomTok survives,’ the friends cheer, but the jubilance doesn’t last long as a brand-new face promises to rock the group.

‘Wait, that’s the girl that was swinging with Taylor,’ we learn as we are introduced to new girl Miranda McWhorter.

Other dramatic clips flash by, including a pregnancy announcement, calls to the police, and a fight threatening to break out between two of the husbands.

‘Honestly, the show must go on,’ Demi Engemann declares in a statement that is music to our ears.

The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives returns to Hulu and Disney+ on 15 May.
