The first series of The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives on Disney+ offered unfettered access into the lives of a group of Salt Lake City Mormon influencers. If that doesn't sound like any reality show you've seen before, it's because it isn't.

The show, which follows the lives of the #MomTok influencers who went viral in 2021 after it emerged that some of the couples had been 'soft swinging', leading to one couple involved getting divorced, aired on Hulu and Disney+ on 6 September. Unsurprisingly, fans quickly became obsessed with the cast and want to keep up with their lives. Luckily for them, season two is right around the corner.

What do we know about the second season? Which wives will be back? And what might happen? Here's everything we know so far...

Is there going to be a season two of The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives?

Yes! Hulu has confirmed that season two of The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives has been given the green light and filming begins right away. Not only that, but the next season will feature 20 episodes.

Rob Mills, the VP of reality content at Disney, said**:** 'There was a philosophical question raised in season one, which was "Can #MomTok survive this?" The answer unequivocally is yes!' The new episodes will come out in spring 2025.

Who will star in season two of The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives?

The first series was made up of Taylor Frankie Paul – the woman who posted the original viral video about the swinging scandal that rocked the entire group – Demi Engemann, Jennifer Affleck (whose relation to Ben Affleck is becoming increasingly unconvincing), Jessi Ngatikaura, Layla Taylor, Mayci Neeley, Mikayla Matthews and Whitney Leavitt. Taylor, Demi, Jessi, Layla, Mayci and Mikayla all posted a group TikTok confirming that they will be back.

However, it's unclear whether Whitney will be back for a second season because she has publicly distanced herself from the rest of the group and claims to have been given a bad edit following backlash from viewers online. Responding to the news that the show is getting a second season, she posted a TikTok miming that she will 'never' be back before joking 'maybe, someday'.

At the end of season one, she left the group chat. A symbolic move to say the least. Mayci later confirmed, 'She's not really close with anyone.' Not only that, but Whitney is expecting her third baby and is reportedly thinking of moving to a homestead to live a quieter and more traditional Mormon life. Whether she'll make a comeback to redeem herself or clear things up with the rest of the group remains to be seen.

Another Mormon wife who fans were worried might be absent from season two is Jen Affleck. At the end of the debut season, Jen and her husband Zac were about to move to New York so he could go to medical school (they have definitely moved, we just don't know where yet) and he reportedly wanted Jen to distance herself from the group. Despite the tension this caused, Jen still appears to be in touch with the rest of the moms and, surprise surprise, she's also posted a TikTok in response to the season two news.

Sat with her two kids, she mimes an audio clip saying, 'I'm not embarrassed by anything that I went through. What may be tea for you is testimony for me. So if you're going to talk about what broke me, invite me to the table, so I can tell you what God did with the pieces.' The video is captioned 'stay tuned...' which we can safely interpret as confirmation that Jen is returning.

If for nothing else, fans want to get to the bottom of her tenuous ties with Ben Affleck. Jen originally claimed that her husband Zac was Ben's cousin but, despite sharing the same name as both the famous actor's ex-wives, the couple had never met him. However, social media sleuths have done some digging and it seems like they might not be related at all.

One fan posted on social media saying, 'So the claim is that Zac's dad (David) and Ben are first cousins. This would mean Gordon (David's dad, Zac's grandfather) and Timothy (Ben's dad) are brothers. According to genealogies, Timothy's only sibling is a man named Stephen. I've gone back like 2-3 generations and Ben Affleck's family has always resided on the east coast. Even Gordon's father (Zac's great grandfather) was born, raised and died in Utah. And that man's father came from England. It's just impossible.' A subplot for season two perhaps...

What might happen in season two?

By the end of season one, the main questions were: Did Dakota cheat on Taylor with Jenna, and, if so, will Taylor stay with him? The finale was a cliffhanger, and while it looks like Taylor and Dakota are still very much together – they welcomed their baby boy Ever True in March – viewers want to know the details.

The second question is: Did Whitney actually move from SLC and has she really left MomTok? This is another storyline the second season might pick up on...

Aside from that, fans will be eager to find out all the latest relationship drama and antics of this not-so-conventional Mormon friendship group.

When is season two of The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives out?

Season two of The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives will be out in spring 2025. Filming is apparently underway already and the second instalment will feature 20 episodes. Yes, that's a lot of drama.
