When The Hills officially returned to our screens this year, we were filled with anticipation. Could 'The Hills: New Beginnings' live up to the drama of the original series? And well, the answer was a resounding yes. So much so that the series has been picked up for a second season, although without Stephanie Pratt's attendance confirmed, we might be losing some entertainment value.

So when will we know? And most importantly, will get to see Mischa Barton continue her glorious comeback? Here's everything we know about The Hills: New Beginnings season two...

When will we get to see 'The Hills: New Beginnings' season two?

There's no official date yet, as MTV only announced last week that season two will definitely be a go. However, it's likely to continue in the same theme as last season: that is, a whole new type of show.

'The title says it all — New Beginnings. This time around the cast are 30-somethings and many are at a pivotal crossroads in their personal and professional journey,' Nina L. Diaz, president of entertainment for MTV, told The Hollywood Reporter, 'The cast let us into their lives to reveal some of the truths of their new reality and their real emotions as they experience these new beginnings.'

Will Stephanie Pratt return to The Hills?

From the looks of her current state of mind, no. She revealed on Instagram that she has found the first season 'draining' after fighting with Heidi, Spencer and Audrina for so much of it.

Will Mischa Barton return for season two of The Hills?

It seems likely! Mischa received a warm welcome from viewers whom commended her loyalty to her friends and epic call-out of infamous villain Justin Bobby. In fact, she revealed in an interview with Page Six that she hoped the series would shed light on her somewhat 'mysterious' image', so hopefully she'll continue to strive for more on-screen authenticity and stay on our screens for longer.

Will Lauren Conrad Make A Return For The Hills Reboot?

Lauren Conrad will not be making a return for the re-boot (sob), and there's no doubt both LC and her arch rival Kristen Cavallari (who also won't return will be missed). According to reports, Lauren is skipping the reboot due to 'other priorities' which we're guessing may have something to do with her very recent pregnancy announcement.

Mischa Barton surprisingly made her onscreen return in the re-boot - which we were completely over excited about and it's throwing up all of the Marissa Cooper memories from The O.C.
