The Internet is going crazy for Netflix’s Stranger Things, a show that’s essentially - for the uninitiated - about a 12-year-old boy who goes missing, which leads to an investigation that uncovers hidden mysteries and supernatural goings-on.

Capitalising on all this buzz around the second series of the show, Snapchat had launched its first AR (that’s augmented reality to me and you) experience based on the show, where users can delve into a portal into a new world.

Snapchatters can jump into the Upside Down version of Joyce Byer’s living room and virtually have a nose around, move about the room and – thankfully – see back through the door to the real world.

Snapchatters can unlock this new lens using Shazam and Snapchat’s collaboration – the filter will open when the theme song plays, so you can use it while the opening credits play.

Which Netflix show will we be able to walk around next? Here’s hoping it’s not Black Mirror, that show is scary enough already.
