For those of you (us) who've been wondering how Carrie Bradshaw and co would be handling life in a pandemic, you won't have to wonder much longer. Hot off the news that the show will be coming back, without Kim Cattrall, Sarah Jessica Parker has revealed that the new series will cover life and love in the age of Covid.
Speaking to Vanity Fair on Friday, SJP said that Covid-19 was 'obviously be part of the storyline, because that’s the city [these characters] live in. And how has that changed relationships once friends disappear? I have great faith that the writers are going to examine it all.'
With the scripts still in development, we've got some time to wait before we find out exactly how Carrie, Miranda and Charlotte have fared in lockdown (and whether this ties into Samantha's fate on the show), but in the meantime, Luckily, last summer a genius New York comedian called [Shannon Fiedler](http://Shannon Fiedler) reimagined the first six months of lockdown through Carrie's eyes for us - and she did it so well we're wondering whether she's been onto Michael Patrick King because they are SO ACCURATE.
Shannon told Grazia via Instagram DM at the time, 'I’m an avid SATC fan and I’m a New Yorker myself (well usually, although I’ve been quarantining in the country — which I’m positive Carrie would not approve of. Although I know Aiden would be a fan), and I’ve always found Carrie’s insights and POVs to be a comfort as I navigate my own life as a young woman living in the city. So, of course, I couldn’t help but wonder… what would her take would be on these crazy times we’re living in?'
'When it came to finding Carrie’s voice…I didn’t have to dig too deep. Like I said, I’ve logged many hours watching Ms. Bradshaw, and sometimes it feels like her voice is permanently in my head. So I took what I thought she’d say and just amped up the absurdity of it.'
Here's what Shannon has conjured up for Corona Carrie:
'And as I faced another day in quarantine, I couldn't help but wonder: was Big being socially distant, or just distant?' Extra points here for mentioning something to do with trying to lock Big down with an engagement...
'Yeah the masks I was purchasing were new, but had I always been wearing a mask?' Carrie would 100% be rocking the silk scarf as a mask trend.
'Was self-quarantining just a way to punish single women?' Brb just imagining a whole episode arc about Samantha trying to flout lockdown rules for sex.
'Was it only the video chat with a poor connection? Or was it us?' This is so simple yet so powerful. 10/10.
'Sure murder hornets can't be fun but could they really sting any worse than seeing your ex happily married?' Can someone write a murder hornets fan fiction episode of SATC which somehow involves Big and Natasha?
