Last night, the unthinkable happened. Selasi Gbormittah, the apple of the nation's eye, the heartthrob that's been keeping the country going as the most depressing summer in living memory draws to a close, was let go from Bake Off. After a semi-disatarous attempt at a Fondant Fancy (which, let's face it, no-one likes anyway), the Ghanaian city worker became the last baker to leave before the grand final next week.
Much like Evita in Evita, Selasi has asked Britain 'don't cry for me' in a note he posted to Twitter last night.
Excuse me. My eyes seem to be leaking.
Also, in typical Selasi style, he celebrated with friends and family at his weekly Bake Off viewing party. For the food, he went full Ghanaian with plantain, jollof rice, shito, waakye, and beef stew. Yum.
And his friends were out in full force.
His fellow bakers were also devastated.
FAREWELL YOU BEAUTIFUL MAN.
