Season Two Of Nobody Wants This – Here’s What We Know

Creator Erin Foster as well as stars Kristen Bell and Adam Brody seem to have plans for a second season of Nobody Wants This, despite it not yet having been renewed by Netflix

Will There Be A Second Season Of Nobody Wants This?

Maybe they should rename the Netflix series Nobody Wants This to Everybody Wants This because after the romantic comedy hit the streaming platform on 26 September, viewers have been clamouring for a second season.

The first season – which hit 10.3million views within just four days - saw agnostic sex podcaster Joanne, played by Kristen Bell, and newly single rabbi Noah, played by Adam Brody, fall in love despite the circumstances surrounding their relationship. The final episode saw the pair split briefly after the pressure became too much, but Joanna and Noah were soon back together.

Therefore fans agree that Nobody Wants This is primed for a second season. Joanna and Noah have decided to try and make things work, but what will that look like?

There’s also the fact that Nobody Wants This is based on a true story. Creator, writer and executive producer Erin Foster actually based the entire show on her own relationship – and seeing as Erin (potential spoiler alert) converted to Reform Judaism to marry Simon Tikhman, it feels like there’s plenty of story left to tell.

Indeed Erin has shared, ‘We’re getting a really positive response. And so I think the conversations have definitely started to happen about a potential Season 2. The story in Season 1 unfolds really slowly.

‘And so I think if there is a Season 2. I would want to just kind of pick up where we leave off and continue to take it slow, because I don’t want us to get too far ahead of ourselves. I mean, I want my show to be on the air as long as possible!’

Here’s everything we know about Nobody Wants This Season 2.

Has Nobody Wants This been renewed for a second season?

Not yet, but it seems like everyone is hoping that we’ll get an announcement soon!

What have the cast said about Nobody Wants This Season 2?

According to Erin, ‘Kristen [Bell] and Adam [Brody] would love to do a Season 2’ and the pair have spoken about what they personally think that would look like.

Adam Brody shared, ‘It’s such an open-ended ending. I think that we get the impression that they’re going to try to make it work and be together. And so what that looks like? I don’t think they know.’

For her part Kristen Bell has said, ‘The reason you watch a show is to decide will they or won’t they. I’m happy with the beautiful way this particular story ended, and I feel like there is so much real estate to play with when you are writing about the challenges of navigating different outlooks on life and meddling family members and settling down and compromising and lust and love and all those things. And if I had an answer for you, we would not be able to do a second season.’

What can we expect in Season 2 of Nobody Wants This?

At the end of Season 1, Noah chose Joanna over his role as a rabbi so it’s likely that we’ll see the fallout of his decision – will he quit his job or continue to try and juggle both?

We also saw Esther (Jackie Tohn) discovering her husband Sasha’s (Timothy Simons) not-quite-affair-but-I-wouldn’t-be-happy-if-my-husband-did-that relationship with Morgan (Justine Lupe) and so maybe she’ll team up with Noah’s mother Bina (Tovah Feldshuh) to help split the pair up in order to protect her family from the blonde bombshell sisters.
