December 12th is a new date for your diary FYI, because a new filmis coming out based on the #FreeTheNipple campaign and it looks REALLY interesting. It's based on the real activities surrounding the campaign, a group of brave feminists fight for their right to go topless in the public on the streets of New York.
Variety announced that the film has already been picked as part of Sundance Selects and none other than Miley Cyus has recorded the soundtrack, which is a cover of Melanie Safka's Look What They've Done To My Song, Ma. It's been said by the producers of the film that Miley's remake of the song is 'very Johnny Cash. Her voice is so raw.'
Lina Esco (who we interviewed here BTW) is the founder of the #FreeTheNipple movement and is making her directorial debut on this film. She is also an actress herself and stars in the film. Funnily, she met Miley Cyrus on set of the film LOL (remember that old chestnut?) and showed her an early cut of the Free The Nipple movie that year - that is when she agreed to get involved with the soundtrack.
Here's the official trailer to whet your appetite:
