Here's the excuse to turn off your phone and ignore everyone in the real world that you've been looking for. Introducing the August edition of the Netflix films and tv shows you're gonna want to watch.

1. Wet Hot American Summer: Ten Years Later

Never have I wanted the American summer camp experience harder than after watching the trailer for this. Huge American Pie vibes for this series that takes a shit hot cast (some of the originals included) back to camp for a huge ten year reunion. Could well be your next binge.

2. Naked

We’ve got your hangover Sunday lolz right here, guys. This film’s about a guy who is forced to live the same day over and over again (because we’ve never heard of that one before…) and keeps waking up in the buff on the day of his wedding, unable to get to it. Looks like it’ll make for easy watching.

3. Boyz N’ The Hood

Some 90s-nostalgia coming at ya. In case you’re not already familiar, Cuba Gooding Jr, Ice Cube and Laurence Fishburn star in this absolute classic. It’s all about three mates trying to survive growing up in south central LA. Beyond all the guns (there’s a lot of guns) it’s a really great watch.

4. Disjointed

Ever wondered what it’d be like if you and your family ran a marijuana dispensary? You know, beyond being high all the time? I think this series is where you find out.

5. The Other Boleyn Girl

Rogue addition I know, but let’s not under appreciate the brilliance of a good old period drama. The ultimate love triangle is at play right here. You’ve got a king desperate for an heir, sisters depressingly pinned against each other for the sake of pleasing a man. So much to sink your teeth into on a rainy afternoon, guys.

6. Atypical

Atypical is one of Netflix’s new offerings and it’s got a real ‘I’m gonna warm your heart whether you like it or not’ kind of vibe to it. It’s all about a guy in high school who’s on the autism spectrum and is on a quest for a girlfriend much to the despair of his very protective family.

7. Death Note

If you like a bit of tension in your life you might want to give this one a go. It’s based on a super popular Japanese manga book and is all about a guy who finds himself in possession of a notebook that kills anyone whose name is written in it. Real morality questioning kinds of stuff over here. Also involves a creepy, deep-voiced man with a spiky head.
