If last summer's Beckham documentary left you wanting more, fear not because Netflix has just announced that a new documentary series about Victoria Beckham is in production. From what we can tell so far, the series is about both the woman and the brand, but the focus is on her role as a business owner.

Sharing the news on X, the official Netflix account wrote, 'In the most Posh news ever, a Victoria Beckham documentary series is now in production! The series will follow her reinvention as a Creative Director of her own brand — offering exclusive access to Victoria, her fashion and beauty business, and her never-before-seen archives.'

Fans have been quick to share their excitement online, with one writing 'can't wait' and another commenting, 'wooooo'. While a third fan said, 'We want a Spice Girls documentary'. To that, we suggest they catch up on Victoria's earlier critically-acclaimed work, Spice World.

When is the Victoria Beckham documentary series out?

Given that the series has only just gone into production, we don't know when it will be released yet. We will update you as soon as we have more information.

Who is working on the Victoria Beckham docuseries?

Apparently, Victoria is working with her husband David’s Studio 99 production team and Dorothy Street Pictures, who spearheaded Coleen Rooney’s Wagatha documentary on Disney+, on the project.

Nadia Hallgren is directing the series and is an award-winning filmmaker and cinematographer from New York. She is best known for directing four-time Emmy-nominated Becoming (2020) for Netflix, which provided an intimate look into the life of Michelle Obama.

A source told The Sun, 'This is the most revealing insight Victoria has ever given into her fashion empire. The series will give a window into Victoria’s world at work and how she juggles that part of her life with being a mum-of-four.

'As well as showing Victoria working on her new collection for Paris Fashion Week, the show will feature interviews with her family and those who work closely with her in the fashion industry. Victoria’s fans have only ever seen glimpses into her world through interviews or on social media so this is a huge deal for her.

'Lifting the curtain on what it takes to run her business, and how she built it up from nothing into a global brand, will be fascinating. Netflix have snapped up the rights and filming will begin in the coming weeks.'

What will the Victoria Beckham docuseries be about?

The series is likely to chart Victoria's career from her days as a Spice Girl to becoming high end fashion designer.

She first launched her fashion brand in 2008 and has dressed stars including Kim Kardashian, Rosie Huntington-Whiteley and Gwyneth Paltrow. Victoria showcases her designs at Paris Fashion Week and this March had Vogue editor-in-chief Anna Wintour, model Shanina Shaik, tennis pro Maria Sharapova and Valentino’s creative director Pierpaolo Piccioli sitting on the front row.

In 2019, she developed the business and launched a skincare and beauty line, and last year, she launched a range of perfumes inspired by moments in her and David's relationship. In the past two years, sales have risen by 44% to £58.8m through the brand's in-store, online and wholesale channels, as Victoria's beauty products have proved popular and her Paris Fashion Week shows were well received.

Speaking to Grazia earlier this year about her decision to start featuring in the brand's beauty tutorials and engaging with her ever-growing fanbase, she said, 'I’m a real girl’s girl and I think that comes across. I remember when I was growing up, my mum had two very close friends and one would never tell my mum where she got her outfit from or her bag. She just didn’t want anyone else to know. There’s a lot of women like that and it’s bizarre. If I’ve got something great, a great tip or a great new pair of trainers, I want to tell everyone.

'The other thing is that for so long people had this opinion of me that I was this steely-faced ice queen because of the paparazzi pictures and the story that the media would paint. Through social media, people now see that that’s not me. I like to laugh at myself. There’s always humour in what we do. I think that’s key.’

It's possible, then, that the series will feature a side to Victoria that people don't often get to see – and one they loved in the Beckham documentary last summer. We can also expect to hear from some of the biggest names in fashion who have observed her career trajectory from the very beginning. And judging by last year's hit series, it's likely that David and their four kids – Brooklyn, Romeo, Cruz and Harper Seven – will make an appearance too.
