Hurrah: The Politician is (almost) here. If you’re as excited for the show as we are, then you’ll know it features none other than Goop founder Gwyneth Paltrow.

You’ve probably also guessed, by the name of the show, that it’s about a politician. But there’s a lot more to this satirical comedy, including an all-star cast, so here’s everything you need to know.

Who is in The Politician?

As said, Gwyneth Paltrow is the star of the show. The actress is playing Georgina Hobart, the ultra-privileged mum of titular character Payton Hobart, The Politician. Payton will be played by Tony award winning actor Ben Platt. Meanwhile, Georgina’s mum is going to be played by American Horror Story’s Jessica Lange. The Politician will also star Lucy Boynton of Bohemian Rhapsody fame, along with Zoey Deutch, Bob Balaban, David Corenswet, Julia Schlaepfer, Laura Dreyfuss, Theo Germaine, Bette Midler, January Jones, Dylan McDermott, Rahne Jones and Benjamin Barrett.

What is the plot of Netflix’s The Politician?

The plot of The Politician will centre around Payton Hobart, played by Ben Platt, who has always had an inkling that he would become US President. However, it's not that easy, first he must be elected into the student body of Saint Sebastian High School, and get into Harvard. (Which his mum is adamant about.) Netflix have also said ‘every season will revolve around a different political race his character is involved in.’ So there's definitely more to come.

Is there a trailer?

We’re glad you asked. There is. You can watch it below. (Doesn’t it look amazing?!)

What is the release date of Netflix’s The Politician?

The 10-episode series will be released in full on Netflix on September 27.

Is there going to be a series two of Netflix's The Politician?

The first one isn’t even out yet, but yes there is - because there was a bidding war over it. On February 5, 2018, it was announced that Netflix had given the production a two season straight-to-series order, following interest from Hulu and Amazon.
