Netflix Is Trialling A Price Hike Weekend And It's Not Cool

Guess what I did this weekend? I bet you guessed first time because you spent your days off doing the exact same thing. In between drinking too much red wine, eating lots of pasta and trying to exercise with a hangover, I watched a lot of Netflix. Lots of Designated Survivor to be precise. Because what better way to spend a lazy Sunday than sat on the sofa with a plate full of food and Netflix on?

Netflix knows about our watching habits though, and now it’s penalising us for it in Australia. The streaming service is trailing a test with price hikes to understand how their customer uses Netflix, according to The Australian. SORRY WHAT NOW. The test will vary in time, and length and only certain members will see it.

Digital Spy spoke to Netflix, and were told that they ‘continuously test new things at Netflix and these tests typically vary in length of time. In this case, we’re testing slightly different price points to better understand how consumers value Netflix.’

Netflix went onto say: ‘Not everyone will see this test, and we may not ever offer it generally. We get that they have to test out new things, but we’re thanking our lucky stars that we already have a subscription.
