Molly-Mae Hague's documentary has now dropped on Amazon Prime, and in it, the influencer gets candid on her recent break-up with Tommy Fury, her experience of motherhood, and struggles with online fame. Viewers also see her honest reaction to the scandal surrounding her debut clothing brand, Maebe – a moment that brought her intense backlash and scrutiny.

In the first three episodes of Molly-Mae: Behind It All, the mum of one is excited by how quickly her debut clothing collection sells out, and quickly becomes shocked and upset when a flood of criticism pours in the days after.

In October last year, Hague was called-out by buyers who complained that their Maebe items bobbled within days of purchase, and that the items were made of a cheap material, despite blazers costing £140 and t-shirts, £35. Many shared their negative reviews on TikTok, saying they were really disappointed at the quality and price point.

A month later, the 25-year-old apologised, saying, 'I'm really sorry you feel let down - I'm learning as I go and will make this a better buying experience for you as soon as we can.'

Here's what she said about the Maebe backlash in the documentary...

On hearing the criticism against her clothing quality, the influencer said, 'I've taken so much time. Literally taken years to get it right. All I want is for people to be happy. I've got to be honest and say we have faced more negativity than I had anticipated so far. Not all of it has been fair, but I've got to hold my hands up and say some of it is fair.'

She also goes into more detail around what exactly went wrong. According to Hague, there was an error with the production of the garments. She said the materials she and her team signed off on, and she tested for a year, were not the one that was used in the end.

'Our final samples, and put on for probably a year, did not bobble,' she says. 'It makes me feel crap – it's not nice. It's just my worst nightmare.'

Our final samples, that I wore for a year, did not bobble.

She shares that she really wants people to love the brand, and for it to be a huge success, but the situation has really knocked her confidence.

Speaking on her recent break-up with Tommy amid the poor reception to her new label, she says, 'My whole coping mechanism has been that we'll hopefully get to a better place. Through everything going on with Maebe, it is what I focus on.'

In the third episode, as more criticism comes in, she's away in Ibiza shooting a new campaign for her fake tan company, Filter, and shares, 'To be honest I just am finding this very hard. At first it was just my relationship that was breaking down, but now it feels like my business too.'

Viewers also see her confide in her dad, who encourages her to publicly address the situation. Her business advisor later discourages this response however, saying any comment will have a worse impact on the business, but Molly-Mae disagrees.
