Not only are there (pretty strong) murmurings of a second season of Making A Murderer, apparently a film about the case could be released before 2020. Although there doesn't actually seem to be any proof (anyone?) an Irish bookies, BoyleSports, have released odds for the actors who could play Steven Avery in said film.

Danny McBride and Billy Bob Thornton are at the top of the runnings with odds of 9/2 whilst other suggestions include Woody Harrelson (7/1), Leonardo DiCaprio and Brad Pitt (16/1), John Travolta (50/1).

The Netflix series Making A Murder takes viewers through the murder case of Teresa Halbach for which Steven Avery is currently serving a life sentence as is his nephew Brendan Dassey.

There's also said to be concern that a second season could be stopped by legal action on the part of the authorities. Creators of Making A Murderer, Moira Demos and Laura Ricciardi, revealed that they were almost stopped from releasing the original series after being served legal papers but eventually the judge ruled in their favor.

According to the Daily Record, Demos said of a second series that ‘We’re hoping to do something a little shorter next time around. We’re keeping our options open.’

It’s also been reported that Steven Avery has not been allowed to watch the 10 part documentary despite requests to his warden and social worker.
