He has been getting attention after being a groom on the latest season of Married At First SightAustralia, with Clint Rice’s off-screen antics with Jacqui Burfoot making the headlines. Rice and Burfoot – who got together in November 2024 after filming ended on the 12th series and following her split with her TV husband Ryan Donnelly – have been flaunting their new life together, with the lawyer-turned-jewellery designer sharing Instagram posts even moving to Tasmania to live with Rice. All this happened before his wedding to his ‘bride’ Lauren Hall had even aired. Shocking!

Who is Clint Rice?

Rice is a pro-golfer and entrepreneur who lives in Launceston, Tasmania. ‘I played around the world tour for ten to 15 years and got into e-comm,’ he said in his MAFS intro. He’s been a member of PGA Australia for 22 years. Rice was the previous owner of sporting brand Performance Brands Australia, who imports and distributes sports products and training technology. After selling the company in 2023, he launched an e-commerce gifting business.

How old is Clint Rice?

Rice was born on 15 November 1980, making him 44.

How much is Clint Rice worth?

While his exact fortune is not known, Rice alluded to being a ‘millionaire’ in his MAFS audition tape and he revealed that women act differently around him once they find out that he is rich. His house – or rather, a mansion by many standards – has huge walk-in wardrobes, a tennis court, golf simulator, putting green, bar and home cinema. Not your average Aussie home.

‘I would [describe myself as wealthy], humbly wealthy. I’ve worked hard for what I’ve got. As much as I’ve got a nice car, two perfect fur babies, I’ve got a big house that’s pretty empty,’ he said. ‘As soon as they know I’ve got a Porsche, I’ve got a house and I’ve sold my company for several millions, then I find they want to latch on. They want to move in, they think they’ve got their ticket and their freedom for the rest of their lives.’

It's thought that Rice made his money from playing golf professionally in the tournaments around the world, including Canada, as well as his business investments.

Are Clint and Jacqui still together?

Rice and Burfoot are very much together, as seen from their social media. Calling him her ‘perfect match’, she recently shared a photo of the happy couple together. ‘Experts had my perfect match right under their noses and they still couldn’t get it right,’ she wrote.

Burfoot told her TikTok followers, ‘I am very happy. I’m an 11/10 for life happiness and satisfaction. I feel like I’m living my dream life and I’m so happy to be with someone that is genuine, down to earth and loves the outdoors like me.’

Why did Clint and Lauren break up?

Rice applied to take part in MAFS Australia to find love after the end of a ten-year relationship.

‘When I sold my company last year, it was time to ask myself a lot of big life questions. What haven’t I achieved? I’d achieved a lot in golf, in business, but personally all my friends around me have kids and young families, and they’ve been married and I’ve been to all their weddings and it’s like, “Is that ever going to happen to me?”’ he said.

‘It’s a real struggle to actually find someone. I’ve definitely had thoughts that I might never get married. I might never find someone I truly have that connection with.’

Rice was Hall’s second TV husband, following her failed marriage to Eliot Donavan. But after exchanging vows, they broke up after the Couple’s Retreat after Rice admitted that he found Burfoot attractive, which unsurprisingly didn’t go too well with her new ‘bride’. ‘I’ve learned that he likes scruffy women who have a strong drive in career,’ Hall said, adding that she doesn’t think he is ‘alpha’ enough for her.
