Lauren Hall didn't have the easiest journey on Married At First Sight Australia. Her story began when she was paired up with Eliot Donavan at the start of the series. They were one of the first couples to walk down the aisle, but sadly they did not even make it to the first dinner party.
In a brutal turn of events, Eliot walked out on Lauren shortly after the wedding, and told the experts they hadn't given him what he asked for (in his words, someone younger, 'preferably under 30', or a 'cute librarian-like girl').
The experts decided to give both Lauren and Eliot another shot at love at first sight, and bought Lauren back onto the show to be paired with Clint Rice. But what happened? Are they still together?
The short answer is no. Lauren and Clint were paired up by the experts. Their wedding day went successfully, but quickly cracks began to show. Their tumultuous relationship came to an end at the Couple's Retreat, when the couple cut themselves off from the rest of the group (partly driven by Lauren becoming irritated by the others, who she termed 'boganic').
This was spurred on by Clint expressing interest in Jacqui, who was married to Ryan, attractive. 'I've learned that he likes scruffy women who have a strong drive in career,' Lauren told the camera, before admitting she doesn't think Clint is 'alpha' enough because he gets spray tans and shaves his chest.
Lauren and Clint decided to 'leave' the experiment during a tense Commitment Ceremony, but said they were 'interested' in seeing if their relationship would work off-screen. But in the exit interview, Clint said he'd realised that this wasn't the case. 'Reflecting on my time in the experiment and some of the behaviours that [Lauren] demonstrated, I was just like, "You know what, I don't think this is my person," he said. 'This is not someone I want to keep putting in, and doing everything I can, to make it work.'
And the final confirmation that the pair weren't meant to be came when Clint moved on with Jacqui...
Is Clint engaged to Jacqui?
Yes. Clint proposed to Lauren's fellow bride Jacqui Burfoot during a MAFS Australia viewing party, following a whirlwind romance.
During the shock proposal, Clint told Jacqui: 'I wanted to have a conversation later, but we've got a room full of new friends... for what you've done on-screen, you're an absolute star and you've been a star in my life,' continuing 'You're amazing, and I know we signed up for MAFS to get married and find a life-long partner...so I've got one question for you.' He got down on one knee and proposed to a shocked Jacqui with a sparkling engagement ring - and she wasted no time in saying yes.
Their relationship began after filming for MAFS ended in November 2024, following the Jacqui's notorious final vows speech breaking up with her match, Ryan. At the ceremony, Jacqui told Ryan: 'As a man, you're not perfect. It's not the 1920s any more. I don't want to be the wife to a man. I want to be a wife to a husband,' containing 'So, today, I choose peace and to walk away from this relationship. Ryan, in a world of red flags, you are the red carpet.'
Lauren didn't attend the reunion party. However, in an interview with 9Entertainment, Clint opened up about how she'd reacted to his engagement news. 'I explained to her about Jacqui and the relationship we now have, and she was very supportive,' he said.
