Love Island’s Kem Cetinay is in the running (or skating) for a new reality TV slot - he’s been shortlisted as one of next year’s Dancing On Ice contestants, along with around 50 other celebrities fighting for a place on the winter competition’s line-up.

Kem is said to have impressed ITV bosses during his seven week Love Island stint, who think he’ll be able to keep up with the physically demanding training regime and has the personality to bring in new viewers to the figure-skating show. Kem showed off his work out dedication all summer in the villa and captured a huge audience during the hit dating show: millions of viewers tuned into Love Island every night to see his latest bust-ups with girlfriend Amber Davies and bromance with Chris Hughes. 2.43 million watched Kem and Amber be crowned Love Island winners in July, with ITV producers likely scrambling to secure similar ratings for Dancing On Ice 2018. The show has been off air for 3 years, returning for its tenth series soon.

Other celebs rumoured to be in the running for a Dancing On Ice place are 2016 Great British Bake Off winner Candice Brown, Coronation Street stars Antony Cotton and Katie McGlynn, models Katie Price and Alex Gerard, and singer and Kim Kardashian’s ex Ray J. Dancing On Ice was officially confirmed to be returning next year with professional figure skater duo Jayne Torvill and Christopher Dean on the judging panel and This Morning presenters Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby as hosts.

Kem’s most recent reality TV career move comes after the 21-year-old and fellow Love Island contestant and on-screen ‘brother’ Chris promised fans a new follow-up ITV spin-off show, which is yet to be named and is set to follow their lives and new celeb status post-Island. If you’d missed Kem on your screens, it seems you’ll get plenty more chances to catch him soon.
