Can you believe the Love Island final was only last week?
We have lasted way over a full week without the island of love and withdrawal symptoms are still lingering.
The good news is, we don’t have to wait another year for to watch more coupling up! Love Island USA season 3 has landed on ITVBe – and it does not disappoint.
The show can be watched daily, or you can binge watch the whole season on ITV hub - which is even better!
Here’s what you have got to look forward to…
Love Triangles
We have the mother of all love triangles on this season of Love Island USA. It certainly trickles through the season and reaches an explosive end.
Usually love triangles can become quite boring and repetitive but the knock-on effect it has on the whole villa makes it one that keeps audiences gripped.
Strong women
The element that stood out the most on this season of Love Island are the bold, outspoken, and very direct women.
Within the first few moments of entering the villa, islander Cashay Proudfoot took off her wig revealing her shaved head. In this moment she made a statement on creating your own standard of beauty.
It was very powerful and was unlike anything I have ever seen on this franchise before.
Drama
We all know American reality tv does not hold back on the drama. Be prepared for a lot of twists and turns this season. Each episode will have you itching to watch another and it’s gripping viewing.
During the UK version this year our islanders were shy when it came to pulling someone new for a chat, stepping on someone’s toes or kissing on the roof terrace out of sight.
The USA version this year is SAVAGE – they go after who and what they want with absolutely no apologies and we’re here for it!
Nostalgia
Love Island UK is on season seven and the islanders that enter the villa now know they can leave with millions of followers and lucrative deals. In turn this does affect elements of how some islanders act on the show. Cue the is Jake genuine saga!
Because Love Island USA is only on its third season - when the islanders leave the villa they have some popularity from dedicated viewers but it’s not as extreme as the UK version.
The USA islanders this year all come across as very genuine and intentional with everything. Whilst watching it, it takes you back to earlier seasons of Love Island UK. They came for love and were not fazed by the idea of stardom from the outside world.
We also get nuggets of information about the islanders’ beyond just dating and relationship chats. We hear about their family, children, insecurities and more, and this season has a lot of heart.
As viewers we just feel more connected to each islander in a way some feel Love Island UK is losing sight of.
The Drop
Instead of unseen bits, Love Island USA partnered with Paramount Plus to give viewers an extra episode called ‘The Drop’.
Be prepared for exclusive first looks and steamier moment’s that didn’t make the main show…
Diversity
Now, I’m not saying Love Island USA is all the way there – but they are certainly making strides beyond the UK version.
Overall, there is a lot more diversity in terms of race compared to the UK line up - from the original line up, to the bombshells that walk in I have never seen such an array of people in this franchise.
We also meet islander Alana Paolluci – she is curvy and gorgeous! On the show she opens about her experiences with unrealistic body expectations and her relationship with her body. She chronicles her fluctuating confidence and it’s another powerful and relatable moment for viewers. Love Island USA is leading the way!
Love Island USA airs every night on ITVBe at 11pm or watch the whole season on ITV Hub.
