Love Island hasn’t even been on a week - but there has already been a load of drama. In last night’s episode, Ollie Williams decided to leave{
However, since the news was first reported, there has been tonnes of fan speculation as to why the lord-to-be left the show. Just before he entered the villa, photos emerged of Ollie posing with dead animals he had hunted. (There was even a petition that garnered over 40,000 signatures to get him booted off the programme.) Even ex-contestants Curtis Pritchard and Olivia Attwood got involved, and voiced their doubts about whether his reason for leaving was genuine.
But bosses have since hit back, saying that Ollie had no idea about the press stories that were circulating while he was in the villa. ‘Ollie made the decision to leave off his own back and explained his reasons for doing so in his quote,’ a Love Island spokesperson said. ‘He was not made aware while he was in the villa of any press stories running about him but, as with all Islanders, since leaving the villa he has now been briefed as to what has been written and said about him as part of our duty of care.’ They concluded: ‘We will be supporting Ollie as he leaves the villa.’

In yesterday’s episode, Ollie told viewers, ‘I have to be honest with myself, and everyone, that I do still love someone else. I have to follow my heart in this scenario and it would be wrong for me to ignore these feelings. At the end of the day, this is Love Island and it’s about finding love. If I carried on anything with Paige, or any other girl that might come into the villa, it wouldn’t be fair on them.' Tonight, two new bombshells - footballer Finley Tapp and model Connagh Howard - enter the villa. We'll be watching at 9pm to see what happens.
