While fans had been complaining that Winter Love Island 2023 has been drier than the desert so far, we were finally privy to some drama in the latest episode. During the game of (non-alcoholic) beer pong, Zara Deniz Lackenby-Brown was instructed to kiss both the cheeks of the Islanders that she thought was the most two-faced and decided to give the title to actor and ring girl Olivia Hawkins.

But after being selected by Zara, fans noticed that Olivia was absolutely fuming, and now the internet is sure they know why. Turns out the pair are actually friends on the outside...

After some snooping by Love Island viewer Ruby Naldrett, it seems that Olivia commented underneath a picture on Zara’s Instagram – posted well before she went into the villa because naturally all the contestants’ social media accounts are frozen now – saying, ‘Fave photo of you’. Not only this, but Zara has pinned the comment and replied saying, ‘My babes’.

Now, Ruby is asking the question we all are...

Now we think of it, Olivia did say ‘Oh my God’ a few too many times when David Salako and Zara walked into the South African villa, but fans just assumed she was worried that model Zara would turn the heads of her two crushes, Haris Namani and Tom Clare.

So, what's going on? Are the pair acting like they don't know each other or has their relationship been edited out of the show? They could've confessed their friendship to the group, but that information has been kept away from viewers for better drama... that would explain the boys’ very dramatic reactions - bursting into screams and laughter - to Olivia being selected.

After being chosen, the 27 year old took to the beach hut to complain, ‘I feel like she’s using me in her game. I feel like she wanted to humiliate me.’

For their part however, fans are absolutely love the building drama, taking to Twitter to comment, ‘Olivia vs Zara… I’m honestly into it, bring the fire we need!’ and ‘Olivia is rattled by Zara and I love it.’ Savage.
