Ever thought maybe you have what it takes to walk into the Love Island villa? (Let's face it, you're happy to walk around in swimwear and heels - and you're prepared to have arguments about being mugged off on camera.) Well, we have some good news for you: applications for the 2022 series are open.

As Grazia revealed last year, Sharon Gaffk{ =nofollow}a, Toby Aromolaran are just three examples who applied for the show, without being scouted first.

How do you apply for Love Island?

To apply for Love Island, you fill out an application form, send some photos - but, perhaps most importantly, you have to send over a 60-second video to get the producers' attention.

Deciding to help wannabe islanders out, Liberty Poole - who was coupled up with Jake in the villa - recently gave her top tips to those who want to get on the show. And unsurprisingly, she says there's no point pretending to be anything but yourself.

'So I've had quite a few messages [in my DMs] asking me about my audition tape for Love Island and stuff now applications are back open, so I thought I’d just jump on here and help everyone out,' Liberty said in a video posted on her Instagram story. 'I think just be yourself. I'm an absolute nutter and they liked it. Also, I think think outside the box.'

Liberty even got a bit creative with her application, 'I did like a Periometer because I still worked at Nando's - so it still showed who I was but in a different way,' the former waitress said. 'Just like have fun with it. Don't be too serious. Reflect who you are while thinking outside the box. Mine was pure [cheese] because I'm the queen of cringe.'

If you're looking for some extra inspiration before you apply, Amy Hart - from the 2019 series - uploaded her Love Island tape to YouTube, and again, it's a prime example of being creative to catch the eyes of the producers. In the clip, Amy has fun describing her career as an air hostess, and beauty pageant queen, while still explaining why she might not have found The One. ('Some say I'm the love child of Elton John and Gemma Collins,' she says, while on a unicorn lilo, 'I'm not really sure what they mean to be honest.')

So, feeling like you're up to challenge of appearing on the UK's biggest dating show? You can apply for the show here... You've got to be in it to win it.
