Ollie's looking for love as he hasn’t been in a serious relationship for six years. He admits that he often goes for the ‘Instagram hot’ girls, which never develops into anything deep or meaningful. Ollie says he is now ready to fall in love with someone’s heart rather than their looks and wants to settle down and find someone who can be his plus one at his friends’ weddings.
Who has Ollie connected with?
Ollie hit it off instantly with Demi, a 30-year-old safeguarding and attendance manager, as they bonded over their shared love of fitness. Their connection remained strong throughout the pods stage, despite an obstacle in the form of Catherine pre-Freddie, as Demi opened up about her experience with endometriosis. Eventually Ollie chose her and he proposed.
‘I have truly fallen for you, despite never laying eyes on you. I feel in such a short space of time, you have already made me a better man and I can’t wait to continue growing with you,’ a smitten Ollie told a tearful Demi. And off they went to Corfu, following their engagement.
What’s going on with Ollie and Demi?
The couple’s relationship grew initially as they spent time together while they were in Greece, after they had met in real life. But cracks showed when they met up with the other cast and Ollie said he wanted to leave the show. ‘This is putting pressure on me,’ he admitted. Despite their issues, he and Demi moved into their apartment together, where their connection flourished. Their bond was further cemented when they met up with Demi’s family and friends, who all seemed to like Ollie.
Ollie showed that he trusts Demi when he revealed he has ADHD, something he says he hasn't shared with a lot of people. The pair looked united at the next cast mixer, a contrast from how they were in Corfu.
However, Ollie was overheard questioning their relationship in scenes ahead of their big day and if they’re better off as friends than romantic partners. ‘I just feel like I can’t think straight. Maybe we’re just not right as a couple. We’re better as friends,’ he said.
Are Demi and Ollie married?
On their wedding day, Demi left Ollie at the altar, saying no to the vows and leaving him stunned. ‘I love you. But I do not,’ she told him. ‘I’ve learned to love myself in a whole different light during this journey. And actually, that’s a testament to you. I know what I want from a husband and I don’t think we’re quite there, obviously.’
Behind the scenes, she revealed, ‘I said no to marrying Ollie today and it did break my heart. Ollie knows I love him and he understands my reasoning because that’s the man he is. It’s not the end of our journey.’
Demi said that she still loves him and wants their relationship to continue, suggesting this may not be the final chapter for them.
‘It’s not, “I do not. I’m going to walk away from you forever”. It’s an “I do not for now”. I love you,’ she said as they embraced. Ollie agreed, adding, ‘This chapter’s closed but the story’s not over.’ The couple remain friends on Instagram so fingers crossed...
