A new batch of contestants have ditched the dating apps to try their luck on Love Is Blind UK, which has returned for a second series. The Netflix dating show, hosted by husband-and-wife duo Emma and Matt Willis, sees the love hopefuls – including brainy millionaire entrepreneur Kieran Holmes-Darby, fitness fanatic Kal Pasha and singer Aanu – taking a leap of faith as they try to find a connection with potential partners through personality rather than looks, before they meet face-to-face.

Why did Christine Hogan sign up for Love Is Blind?
Having experienced her fair share of heartbreak, Christine – who’s known as a ‘very experienced bridesmaid’ – is looking to find someone to settle down with. Her small rural town offers a limited dating pool of men, and she admits she had a habit of falling for bad boys which lead to heartbreak. ‘I’m the definition of single. All my friends are married with babies. I just wanted to try something new for myself and push myself and just see if I could find a fairytale story myself,’ she says.
‘When you’re in your 20s there’s always a night out and you’re meeting people constantly, whereas, when you get a little bit older, in your 30s, you’re not really out as much.’ She’s also fed up and disillusioned with the apps. ‘I’m kind of sick with “you match with somebody on a dating app and you’re just a bloody pen pal,’ she adds.
