Apparently Louis Theroux Is Going To Take On Trump In His Next Documentary

Theroux says the current political climate is ‘hard to get your head around’ but if anyone can sort things out it's him

Louis Theroux Takes On Trump ‘Phenomenon’ In New BBC Documentary

What’s that? A new Louis Theroux documentary did you say? Is today the most blessed of all days? Yes, calling all Theroux Fangirls (a.k.a. the entire planet) - rejoice! Come join us in whipping out our Theroux T-shirts and doing a victory dance. Better still, the King of the Documentaries is back behind the camera and tackling the minefield of minefields – Donald Trump. (Oooh, we just know it's going to be devilishy good...)

Theroux exclusively revealed to The Mirror he would be exploring the Trump 'phenomenon' in his new three-part BBC documentary series. The filmmaker and our favourite 'true legend' (Stormzy's words - but we couldn't have said it better ourselves) acknowledges this is by no means a small task.

‘It feels like a whole cultural, almost sea change in how the world is part of the post- Brexitwave of populism. The story seems to change every day with Trump. There’s something new bubbling under. It’s hard to get your head around such a big subject...The challenge with Trump would be...something so abhorrent that walks on two legs and is a human being, you have to explore where his foibles come from.’ If we could place our trust in anyone exposing Trump's foibles, we place it in you Theroux!

Since the dawn of time (first time he appeared on our screens), Theroux has always provided us with stellar viewing, incisive questioning and facial expressions that speak a thousand words. From infiltrating the screwed-up world of Scientology, to a bonkers weekend with the Hamiltons, heart-breaking interviews with dementia sufferers, to laugh-out-loud-a-minute rap battles with Mello T, and unnerving meetings with the Nazi community - his documentaries always deliver. We’re sure this will be no exception.

Theroux humbly finished off by saying, ‘Hopefully people will like it. It’s good.’ Please Theroux, can you stop melting our hearts for a sec? Thou can do no wrong!
