Our fave documentarian is back with 3 new programmes set to be broadcast later this year on BBC Two. Louis Theroux is known for his in-depth documentaries, including the 'Weird Weekend’s' series, and everyone seems to be a fan of him- including Stormzy. He’s tackled everything from white supremacists to porn stars to gang crime and now he’s heading back over to America in his new 'Dark States’ documentary.
Luckily, we don’t have to wait very long for a taste of what Theroux’s been working on. The first installment of the series, Dark States: Heroin Town, airs this Sunday at 9 pm. Theroux travels to different states throughout America in the series and we’re set to see him ‘delving into the hidden, harrowing problems faced by American society’. As if the States didn’t have enough problems on their hands, Theroux’s just here to shine the light on a few more. I hope President Trump will be tuning in.

'Sex Trafficking Houston' is a rumoured name for the third installment. This episode will ‘take a look at what is regarded as one of the largest hubs for human trafficking in North America.’ Theroux meets with women working in the sex industry as well as visiting the local police department.
In a recent interview, Theroux explained ‘I immerse myself in some of the most dysfunctional and disturbing aspects of American society. They combine hard-hitting actuality with intimate interviews.’ It’s no doubt that 'Dark States' will be another well-received series from the popular documentarian. He’s also recently expressed his interest in making a documentary surrounding Donald Trump, so watch this space.
