For most brides and grooms on Married at First Sight UK, the show is their first exposure to the world of reality TV. But for Lacey Martin, saying 'I do' to a total stranger (said stranger being Nathan Campbell) has not been her only foray into telly.
In 2020, the current MAFS UK star appeared on ITV2's reality show, Dress to Impress, after her twin sister Paige signed up. The premise of the fashion-focused show reads: 'Fashion and romance combine in this lively reality series. Three fashion-savvy competitors take part in a shopping showdown to win a blind date with a style-conscious singleton.'
In a TikTok of Lacey's appearance on Dress to Impress, she and twin sister Paige were spotted wearing an array of different ensembles in front of the cameras. Lacey captioned the video, 'Catch me on dress to impress on ITV2!!!!! Had the best time!!! #family #dating #dresstoimpress #whodidipick #itv2 #twins #besties'.
As MAFS UK fans watched Lacey tie the knot to Nathan this week, many clocked her from her first rodeo on TV.
'I thought I recognised Lacey and Paige (and their mum),' tweeted one viewer. 'They were both on Dress to Impress. Paige was one of three girls dressing a boy then returned as the one picking. "I’m one of a kind baby” #MAFSUK'.
'I just hope they are not on this just to chase "fame",' another tweeter replied. 'I recognised them straight away. She was so funny on Dressed to Impress though [sic]'.
But that's not all, as Lacey made another small-screen appearance last year in Fred Sirieix's travel show Fred's Last Resort. The famous maître d' whisked 12 young Brits - Lacey among them - to the French Riviera to run a palatial hotel. The press release at the time read, 'Our new recruits will have to lose the loungewear and smarten up their appearance and attitude, as there is a challenging road ahead.'
Writing about her daughter's involvement, Lacey's mum Maxine wrote on Facebook, 'Hi my beautiful friends. Lacey will be appearing in Fred’s Last Resort starting Tuesday 14th and Wednesday 15th March @ 9pm on E4. Whoop. [sic.] Then every Tuesday and Wednesday. I can’t wait to watch it!!!!!! I am so proud of her.'
