Love Island may be over, but don’t despair as it looks like a Celebrity Big Brother is set to fill that salacious reality tele hole when it restarts on Thursday, August 16th. For Queer Eye fans, this season, in particular, will peak your interest as rumours are circulating that Johnathan Van Ness will be entering the house. Can you say, ‘Yass Queen’?
Fans of the Fab Five will know that the grooming expert’s presence will inject some self-care inspiration into the show, a jolt of positivity and a touch of levity. With his podcast, Getting Curious with Jonathan Van Ness, he has advocated for openness and discourse about such varied issues as Brexit, America’s Iran deal and suicide rates within the LGBTQ youth community. Takeaway: expect some serious chats between him and Sinitta and Stormy Daniels (two other rumoured contestants).
Though, bear in mind this man, who calls Gigi Hadid a friend, understands the meaning of good hair. When he’s knot swishing his glossy lob, he’s grooming someone else's. Fingers crossed he’ll get his scissors out and give Samantha Markle (yes, Meghan’s half-sister) a new ‘do. At the very least, he’ll let us in on his personal beauty regime.
The other people rumoured to be entering the Big Brother house next week include transgender activist Paris Lees, Strictly Come Dancing's Brendan Cole, reality star Charlotte Dawson, S Cub 7 singer Paul Cattermole, Coronation Street actess Georgia May Foote and actor Ryan Thomas, model Chloe Ayling, Love Island's Gabby Allen, TOWIE's Bobby Norris and Dan Osborne, Kieran Hayler, actress Kristie alley, ITV's 'Pyschic' Sally, football player Jermaine Pennant, Married At First Sight contestant Ben Jardine and 'Human Ken Doll' Rodrigo Alves.
While we wait for Channel 5 to release the final line-up, all we can do is keep our fingers crossed that this grapevine is speaking the truth.
