Love Island hasn't even been back a week, and there’s already been a tonne of drama. The first contestant - Ollie Williams - decided to quit, after claiming that he was still in love with his ex-girlfriend. And two new bombshells entered the villa last night, taking Paige and Shaughna, and Sophie and Siânnise out on dates. But fans have been focusing on Connor - who is partnered with Sophie - and his reaction.
After one of the new boys Connagh showed an interest in Sophie, Connor (in classic Love Island lingo) ‘took him for a chat’. It was intense. And when, in the episode before, Sophie looked happy with her friends that new boys were coming in - he scalded her for ‘disrespecting him’. (Even though they had only known each other three days - and she insisted it was a joke.) Anyway, the controlling behaviours have made themselves clear early on. Last night The Sun reported that 13 people complained to Ofcom about his behaviour.
And Twitter keep on making a comparison to Joe Goldberg - you know, the serial killer from that Netflix show You. ‘I KNOW Connor has a glass box at home ... Sophie should run,’ one fan wrote on Twitter this morning. Another said, adding a photo of Joe, ‘Connor has most definitely been hurt in the past, he craves an innocent love... then he met you, he’ll see you soon, Sophie.’ One added, 'Connor’s possessiveness is creepy and scary like Joe from You creepy.' Some also made a comparison to Joe from You - and Joe from last year's series, with one adding, 'Everyone saying Connor is the new Joe from You but I’m getting possessive Joe vibes.'
