Gutted Made In Chelsea's come to an end once again? Us too. Although TBF, there's probably only so much more of Spenny and his ways we could have taken before we'd hopped onto the Number 19 bus west to the Kings Road and battered him with a packet of the boiled hot dogs he insists using as his beach body inspo.
Anyways, don't worry about it too much. Whilst the summer used to be one long, barren Made In Chelsea wasteland during which we actually had to find other stuff to watch on TV like, old episodes of Made in Chelsea (Ollie Locke, come back, we love you), *now *we've got the overseas summer specials to look forward to. Last year you'll remember was New York, this year, LA... The lucky bastards.
This season gave us a whole bunch of new characters to replace old faves, and, being set in our ways (we're getting older all the time ladies) is something we weren't so sure about at the beginning. But now, 11 epsiodes down the line, we've warmed to JP, Lauren and the rest of the new kids although it's pretty clear that the breakout star is 21-year-old Jess Woodley who, after a rocky start involving a spat with Mytton's girlfriend Nicola over some ill-judged comments, ended up with Jamie Laing, by way of a brief stopover at the house of nostril-purveyor and erstwhile acoustic guitar player Andy Jordan.
At the moment Jess and the rest of the gang are over in Los Angeles filming what will no doubt be another ever-so-entertaining series of bitching, awkwardness and oh-so-convenient run-ins on street corners. Luckily though, she found a few minutes to tell us about what it's all been like...
'I just stumbled onto it by accident, really!' She says when we ask her how she got into Made In Chelsea in the first place. 'All my friends were on it and I just thought it would be fun!' So she knew all the cast beforehand? 'Not *all * of them but most of them. They were always hanging out in Barbados at Christmas when I was there with my family.' Barbados at Christmas? Sounds delightful.
Being the new girl can be pretty scary though, 'Yeah it was quite nerve wracking,' she agrees. 'I wasn't sure if anyone would really like me but actually everyone was really great and very welcoming.' Was it weird dealing with cameras around all the time? 'Not really actually,' she says. 'I soon got used to it!'
One of the toughest parts *I *think about being on Made in Chelsea, is having all of Twitter bang on about you, your looks and what you're up to every Monday evening. Was that a rough thing to get used to for Jess? 'I still don't really understand *why *people would want to talk about me. Honestly I'm not very newsworthy!'
In the context of the show though, she defos is. Jess learned the hard way that the people on the show like to talk about each other, erm, rather freely behind each others' backs. 'Yeah you have to be quite tough and not take anything personally. But sometimes it can be very hurtful.' Boo-urns Chelsea gang, boo-urns.
Anyways, onto happier subjects; how are things going in America? 'LA is so much fun.' She says. 'I am staying in Beverly Hills and we're all getting up to mischief.' Including, according to her Instagram, meeting PARIS HILTON. What was she like?! 'She was so much fun,' Jess says. 'Very friendly and normal.'
Obviously Jess can't give too much away about what's going to happen but on the subject of her and Jamie Biscuits, she's got a bit to say; 'Me and Jamie... Who knows? Anything can happen in LA. At the moment we're just having loads of fun.'
So, will Jess and Jamie survive Hollywood? Will the 'Bois' go full Entourage and start hoovering up wannabe starlets from the Chateau Marmont car park at an alarming rate? Will Spencer finally reach peak mahogany? We'll find out later in the summer.
