With filming for the second season of The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives underway, fans have been keeping a close eye on what the cast of the mould-breaking reality show have been up to. And a flurry of recent Instagram and TikTok videos have seen the state of Zac and Jen Affleck's marriage come under scrutiny, leading many to believe they have called it quits.

At the end of the first season of The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives - which is hooked on the aftermath of the swinging drama involving TikToker Taylor Frankie Paul - Zac and Jen's future remained unclear, especially in light of their blazing argument that ensued after her friends took her to Chippendales. Jen acknowledged on The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives that the nature of Chippendales - male stripteasing - was 'crossing the line' and it went 'against everything we believe in as Mormons'. She left before the performance started but ended up furiously clashing with Zac on the phone, with Jen later telling a friend that her husband said he 'didn't want to be married to her' if she 'does stuff like this'.

But speaking to US Weekly, Jen, 25, explained how the Hulu series helped her and Zac work through their issues.

She said, 'I definitely think it was the best thing to happen to our relationship. While watching the show, a lot of people are going to think that maybe this would break our relationship apart. But if anything, it did the opposite. Being on camera and having those moments happen made us take a step back and actually look at a relationship and make us just see what we have to change.'

Jen added, 'Ever since we finished filming, we’ve been doing non-stop therapy and it’s been great. So if anything, [watching the show] is just going to be exposure therapy at this point.'

But speculation that there is still trouble in paradise arose last week, when Jen - who shares two children, Nora and Luca, with Zac - shared a TikTok in which she wasn't wearing her wedding ring.

Then her Secret Lives of Mormon Wives co-star Mikayla Matthews seemed to propel the narrative over the weekend, as she uploaded a video of her, Mayci Neeley and Jen lip-syncing to a scene from The Kardashians.

Jen, dubbing to Kim Kardashian's audio from the family's hit reality show, said, 'I don't even know where we left off.' Her co-stars responded, 'You were still in a relationship.' Jen then chimed, 'I was? Damn. Things change really quickly. [...] No I'm not okay.'

Mikayla captioned the reel, 'I'm confused [sic]'.

Shortly after, Mayci had fans scratching their heads even more with a TikTok where Jen was donning her wedding ring.

Mayci and Mikayla lip-synched to Amy Winehouse's Me & Mr Jones - 'What kind of f**kery is this? You make me miss the Slick Rick gig' - while Jen seemingly flashed her band.

'You're confused? I'm confused [sic],' Mayci penned.

One follower wrote, 'Okay, but it's on the wrong hand people!', to which an eagle-eyed fan claimed, 'They're using the front camera. So things look backwards. That's the correct hand.'

And a source has alleged to People that rumours of a split are 'unfounded' and Jen 'often goes without her wedding ring'. The publication's source said 'she has never really worn it consistently and it's not something that bothers her husband', adding that the pair are filming for the second series at their family home.

Hopefully season two of The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives will make things less enigmatic...
