After taking a modest 13 years out to have a baby, everyone’s favourite superhero family, The Incredibles, are finally ready to return to the silver screen and we are all VERY excited.

The long-awaited sequel to the 2004 Disney Pixar classic will be released in the UK on July 13th next year and if it’s even half as successful as the original; we’ll probably all be spending that day fighting off school-kids in the cinema - but it’ll be worth it.

Any fellow Incredibles fans out there will be pleased to know that the sequel returns with the same, well-loved cast as before with Mr Incredible voiced by Craig T. Nelson, Elastigirl by Holly Hunter and of course, Frozone, voiced by none other than the legendary Mr Samuel L. Jackson.

The second film picks up right where the last one left off (probably best considering how long it’s been) following the story of the Parr family and their newest super addition - baby Jack-Jack, who’s just discovered that he too has superpowers.

However, not everything will be quite how we remembered. Oscar-winning director Brad Bird (who also happens to be the voice of Edna Mode) confirmed at a panel earlier this year that the sequel will have a much stronger female presence.

Feeling refreshed after over a decade on maternity leave, Elastigirl is now set to take centre stage as the main protagonist and focus of the story. leaving her hubby Mr Incredible as the stay-at-home dad in charge of a superhero baby with laser beam eyes – what could possibly go wrong, eh?
