Iconic rom com How To Lose A Guy In 10 Days is being made into a TV show, and is it OK to admit we’re over the whole reboot thing? After The Four Weddings and a Funeral TV show, co-written by Mindy Kaling and available on Hulu, failed to impress viewers, we’re not sure this classic will fare any better. Surely we can find some new stories to tell rather than bringing back old shows like The Hills?

Confirmation of the adaptation came via a strange tweet from writer Guy Branum, who wrote: ‘We were all certain you could not make a good romantic comedy anymore because print media is dead and RomCom ladies have to work at magazines, but against the tides of history, Quibi & Paramount have agreed to let me re-write "How To Lose A Guy In 10 Days"

We’re not sure if his tweet was supposed to be sarcastic or not – it’s not just women who work at magazines that fall in love, and have you ever heard of digital media? – but a re-writing of the film is coming none the less.

Hopefully the TV series will be a little more progressive than Branum’s tweet, he’s previously written on shows such as The Mindy Project and Awkward.

Maybe this time around Andie Anderson will be a YouTuber with a dating vlog who is attempting to create a viral video by going against all the dating advice she’s ever been given, and Benjamin Barry is a fitness influencer who is trying to find a girlfriend to do workouts with to increase his Instagram followers.

We can only dream.
