It’s official. 1993's hit Disney movie Hocus Pocus is getting a revamp. Just as it hits October and we start to binge watch our fave Halloween movies, Disney Channel has allegedly started remaking the witch comedy into a TV film.
Reports suggest that the remake will feature an entirely new cast meaning that Bette Midler, Sarah Jessica Parker and Kathy Najimy who starred as the Sanderson sisters are unlikely to star in the new film.

Mick Garris, screenwriter for the original Hocus Pocus was asked about the old cast members making a return. ‘If they don’t do that I think it would be a big mistake because all three of them are still so incredibly potent and powerful and great performers.’
Although originally directed by Kenny Ortega (the mastermind behind High School Musical), he won’t be working on the Hocus Pocus remake but Scarlett Lacey (The Royals), will be writing the new project.
We're not too sure if a Hocus Pocus remake without Bette Midler and co is what we actually wanted, and fans on Twitter feel the same.
As of yet, a release date has not been announced.
