Will Harry Potter ever get old? Nope, not happening. Can’t happen, won’t happen. Which is why this fan-made Voldemort: Origins of the Heir trailer is just the thing we need to remind ourselves that Harry Potter is for life.
The 50-second video was made by a group of fans who call themselves Triangle Films, and has been in the works since 2016. After re-reading Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince, they (as Carrie Bradshaw would say) got to thinking about what drove Tom Riddle to become he who shall not be named. The trailer has now been released, and we’ve got to say it looks pretty epic. Like this could legitimately be in cinemas near you…but not.
So, what’s the ‘film’ actually about? It focuses on Grisha Mac Laggen, a witch and heir to Gryffindor. The main story line is centred on the murder of Hepzibah Smith, a descendant of the Hufflepuff family, and many believe dark magic is involved. Tom Riddle is, obviously, somehow linked into all this – we expect it might be the start of his journey to the dark lord. SPOOKY. Go watch it, if you dare.
