As arguably the most bingeable franchise on Netflix, if you've enjoyed one Harlan Coben series then you're almost guaranteed to enjoy the others. It's hardly surprising that the platform signed a multi-million dollar deal to adapt 14 of Harlan Coben's best-selling novels, the viewing figures speak for themselves.

His eclectic collection of crime thrillers is full of strange disappearances, dark secrets and intense mysteries – here is a guide to the 11 that are currently available to watch. And yes, several of them take pride of place in the Netflix hall of fame.

The best Harlan Coben series to watch on Netflix

11. The Stranger

The Stranger came out in 2020, which was a famously good year to spend hours binging thrillers on the sofa. When a stranger makes a shocking claim about his wife, family man Adam Price (Richard Armitage) becomes entangled in a mystery as he desperately searches for answers...

With Siobhan Finneran and Jennifer Saunders in the cast too, it's definitely one to catch up on.

10. The Woods

Another 2020 hit, The Woods is set in Poland, so you'll need your subtitles on for this one too. In this series, evidence found on the body of a homicide victim sparks hope in a prosecutor that his sister, who disappeared 25 years earlier, could still be alive.

The story unfolds across two different time periods – August 1994 and September 2019 – and will have you on the edge of your seat.

9. Just One Look

Sticking around in Poland, Just One Look is another thriller gripping enough to keep you occupied all weekend (especially if you're sofa-ridden with a cold).

A happily married woman finds an old photograph of her husband – but nothing about the photo, or the people in it, are familiar to her. When her husband seemingly vanishes, she pieces together the clues and stumbles upon a conspiracy related to a tragedy from her past.

8. Gone For Good

In Gone for Good, it's France's turn to keep us guessing. Ten years after losing the two people he loved most, a man finds himself plunged into another dizzying mystery when his girlfriend suddenly vanishes.

It's one of the more hit and miss offerings in the franchise, but you never know, it might be right up your street.

7. No Second Chance

No Second Chance is also in French, but you can watch it dubbed if you can't take the multitasking.

In this series, a doctor who is frantically searching for her missing baby daughter finds herself tangled in a web of ruthless criminals, suspicious cops and dark secrets. It's a medical drama with more than its fair share of twists.

6. Hold Tight

Another Polish crime drama based on Coben's best-selling novel of the same name, Hold Tight was released on Netflix in 2022 and is definitely worth a revisit.

When a young man goes missing soon after his friend dies, life in a tight-knit, affluent Warsaw suburb slowly unravels, exposing secrets and lies. It's even worth a watch just for the chic interiors.

5. Safe

Safe follows Tom Delaney (Michael C. Hall), a paediatric surgeon and widowed father of two teenage daughters. He is struggling to connect with his daughters as they still grieve the loss of his wife from cancer one year prior. After his 16-year-old daughter Jenny goes missing, Tom uncovers a web of secrets as he frantically searches for her.

This one landed on the platform in 2018 and became an instant fan favourite.

4. Missing You

There is no better way to spend New Year's Day than curled up in bed with a new Coben series, which is why we kicked off the year watching Missing You. It's got all the twists, turns and jump scares you want from a Netflix thriller.

As for the story, when Detective Kat Donovan matches on a dating app with the fiancé who disappeared years before, she learns that some secrets are best left in the past. Especially ones to do with her father's murder...

3. Stay Close

Stay Close is the 2021 mystery drama produced by Red Production Company for Netflix. The eight-episode series was released on 31 December 2021 and stars Coben favourites, Richard Armitage and James Nesbitt, as well as Cush Jumbo and Sarah Parish.

When Carlton Flynn vanishes 17 years to the night after Stewart Green did, it sets off a chain reaction in the lives of people connected to both men...

2. The Innocent

If you're happy to tune in with subtitles on, The Innocent is not one you want to miss. An accidental killing leads a man down a dark hole of intrigue and murder; just as he finds love and freedom, a phone call brings back the nightmare...

The series might be in Spanish, but it will have you hooked from the very first episode. It's even got a perfect 100% rating on Rotten Tomatoes.

1. Fool Me Once

When ex-soldier Maya sees her murdered husband on a secret nanny cam, she uncovers a deadly conspiracy that stretches deep into the past. For a lot of people, Fool Me Once was their gateway into the Harlan Coben kingdom and for that reason it has to sit at the top. The whole series has earned more than 153 million streams, making it one of the most successful adaptations to date, and lots of fans are rooting for a second season...
