Following rumours that The Great British Bake Off’s Henry Bird and Alice Fevronia are dating, host Sandi Toskvig made a jokey dig about Henry’s ‘girlfriend’ in last night’s episode (even though the show was filmed weeks ago).
During festival-themed week, Henry asked for Sandi’s help as he tried to roll pastry with a pasta machine for his deep fried Italian creation.
As Sandi offered her help during the technical challenge, the baker said, ‘Can you crank clockwise? Clockwise – yeah that way.’ The presenter replied, ‘I know clockwise, darling.’
But, as the pastry slowly made its way through the roller, Henry prompted her to go ‘a bit faster’ - which the comedian saw as a perfect opportunity for a joke. ‘You’re quite bossy. Wouldn’t be your girlfriend,’ she said, as the pair laughed.
However, breaking all of our hearts, it has since been reported that the claims Alice and Henry dating are untrue - leaving us all a little bit confused.
After the story broke, Alice shared a picture of her hanging out with Henry, Michael and David on Instagram. But she captioned the image: ‘But how many couples can you see…?’ along with a picture of a face palm emoji.
Digital Spy have also reported that the romance rumours aren’t true. Sob.
