It may be early days in the latest season of The Great British Bake Off, but we already have a soft spot for Dylan Bachelet, who’s among the 2024 batch of aspiring bakers. At 20, he’s one of the youngest contestants on the show – just a year older than 19-year-old dentistry student Sumayah – but has already become a fan favourite.

‘I’m on Bake Off 2024 with the best group of people, had a wicked time! Can’t wait to watch it,’ he said. ‘The Bake Off experience took me by surprise every step of the way. I couldn’t ever have anticipated how good it’d be.’

He has a curiosity for culture and love of travel. He took a gap year travelling through Southeast Asia.
