When Alicia Florrick hung up her sharply tailored suits and red wine glasses earlier this year, we were devastated. Now, on the horizon, there is a saviour.

For those of you that attended the Alicia Florrick School Of Television Law (oh yeah, did you not know? Watching all seven seasons of The Good Wife qualifies you to practise law in the state of Illinois), you'll be pleased to hear that Alicia's mates will be back on your screen before you know it.

The news that The Good Wife was to finish earlier this year was a difficult pill to swallow. As you well know, the tale of the spurned wife-turned-super lawyer Alicia Florrick was one of the best things on TV. It was progressive, feminist, funny, classy, sexy and exciting and, when it came to the season seven finale in May of this year, viewers were left wanting more.

Luckily, a spin off had already been announced featuring, as it's main woman, Christine Baranski as Diane Lockheart, Alicia's formidable boss at Lockheart Gardner. And now, that spin off has got a name; The Good Fight.

The premise is this - Diane's goddaughter (Game Of Thrones and Kit Harrington snogger Rose Leslie) has had her 'reputation destroyed' by a huge financial scam. This scam has also wiped out Diane's life savings. The two women are forced out of Lockheart Lee (gross because David Lee took over Will's position as named partner) where they join Lucca (Cush Jumbo) Alicia's old pal at a new law firm.

Also, great news, Eli's daughter Marissa is back too.

How's that for an excellent female heavy cast?

Maybe Alicia will come back too? Maybe. Pls

It's set to air in the US in February.
