Friends Reunion Filming Is Delayed Due To Coronavirus

It's hard to believe that it's been 16 years since the last episode of Friends aired.

The TV show, which ran for 10 seasons from 1994, is one of the most popular in the world and fans are desperate to see more from the gang.

The hotly anticipated reunion special was set to air in May this year, but was unfortunately postponed when Hollywood production paused due to the Coronavirus pandemic - and sadly, it's been delayed once again as the world continues to fight Covid-19.

David Schwimmer gave Friends fans hope earlier this year by suggesting that filming could possibly kick off in August, saying, "[Filming is] supposed to happen maybe in August, the middle of August, but honestly we're going to wait and see another week or two [to] determine it's really safe enough to do.

"And if not, then we'll wait until it's safe."

The one-off show was announced in February and is set to air the reunion of stars Schwimmer, Jennifer Aniston, Courteney Cox, Lisa Kudrow, Matt LeBlanc and Matthew Perry on HBO Max streaming service, but filming dates are now yet to be determined.

Jennifer Aniston confirmed the delay but remained optimistic about the show, telling Deadline, "It's going to be super. You know what? This has also given us more time to make it even more exciting and more fun than it would have been.

"So I choose to see it as the glass is half-full that it got postponed. Look, we're not going anywhere. You're never going to get rid of Friends, sorry. You're stuck with us for life, guys."
