Still in mourning from the end of Harry Potter? We're going to have to stop you there. It's been 11 years. It's time to move on.
What you are allowed to do instead though is get yourself very excited about the impending release of Fantastic Beasts and Where To Find Them, the Eddie Redmayne starring film based on a book from *within *the Potter universe.
Here's what you need to know about it in case there's some bits you're still unsure about.
Is Fantastic Beasts And Where To Find Them A Book?
Yes. But not like, a real book although this depends on how seriously you take the Harry Potter universe. Because in Harry Potter world, it’s a very real book. It is also technically a real book IRL too but only because it existed first in the Harry Potter world. Get it? No?
OK. Fantastic Beasts And Where To Find Them is a book, a textbook, that the students at Hogwarts who sign up for the class Care of Magical Creatures books are required to read. It’s written by a Newt Scamander and it details ‘magizoology’ and magical creatures.
For the* Fantastic Beasts And Where To Find Them* book you can buy in real life (in the muggle world) it's a 2001 book written by JK Rowling for Comic Relief. It’s an IRL version of the textbook with notes ‘written’ by Harry, Hermione and Ron throughout.

What is Fantastic Beasts And Where To Find Them about?
So the film is about Newt Scamander, the dude who wrote the book. He’s played by Eddie Redmayne and the action’s set in 1926, the year before the book was published (in Harry Potter world).
Newt Scamander was kicked out of Hogwarts for endangering human life but he was saved by Dumbledore. Now, several years later, he’s arrived in New York at the Magical Congress of the United States Of America. Sadly for Newt, who seems a bit bumbly, some of his ‘creatures’ escape from his suitcase which sends the American wizarding authorities after him causing a breakdown of relationships between muggles and non-muggles in the city.
Who’s in Fantastic Beasts And Where to Find Them?
Eddie Redmayne, obvs. He plays Newt Scamander. Also there’s Katherine Waterson as ‘Porpetina Goldstein’ who works for the MACUSA. She’s the daughter of Sam Waterston IRL who is the guy in Law & Order that Joey’s grandma gets excited about seeing on TV in that episode where Joey gets cut from the show.
Also starring is Alison Sudol from Amazon Prime hit Transparent. She’s a singer too and VERY COOL.
On the more famous end there’s Colin Farrell as an auror, Samantha Morton as an American version of Aunt Petunia, Ezra Miller as her son and Jon Voight, Angelina Jolie’s dad as a senator.
When Is Fantastic Beasts And Where To Find Them out?
Not long now! 18th November 2016 is the date it’s released in cinemas all around the world in IMAX, 3D… the whole shebang.
