Facebook have just revealed their new Snapchat inspired Halloween filters for Facebook Live. The limited edition filters, called 'Masks,' can be used in conjontion with their live video publisher. So if you CBA to dress up this Halloween why not use a Halloween filter instead. Easy. Here’s how to use them.

Start a Facebook Live

To do this, go to the ‘post’ section on your profile, and click the red live button. Write yourself some copy and click live. Your friends will get a notification when you’re live, so yes they will see everything you’re doing.

To get the Halloween masks

Tap on the magic wand in the upper left corner to bring up Facebooks secret effects. Select the mask icon, then you can scroll happy throughout the options and pick the one you want on your actual face.

What Halloween filters are there?

They are all ‘limited editions,’ we’re not sure how long for. But you can choose from a skull, an evil queen, a pumpkin or a witch mask and many more.

Wait, are there Halloween emojis too?

Why yes my friends there are. For the Halloween period you can pick from a range of equally terrifying (but not really) Halloween ‘reaction emojis.’

Where is this feature available?

Currently it’s only available to iOS users in the UK, US and New Zealand, but according to Mashable, it will be coming to Android users and other countries ‘in the coming months.’

Is this basically Snapchat?

Yes, it is, but a Halloween edition. We won’t lie, it doesn’t have the same smooth look and feel of Snapchat, and to be honest, we’re getting a bit bored of the same old features popping up on every social media platform. That being said though, if Facebook is your social media of choice, go wild this Halloween.
