Everything You Need To Know About Selling Sunset Newbie Emma Hernan

Our TV screens have been blessed with designer looks, incredible hair and multimillion-dollar estates. It can only mean one thing - Selling Sunset is back. The much anticipated fourth season of our favourite real estate reality TV show is finally out on Netflix, so we can watch our favourite real estate agents party, get into heated arguments, and maybe sell some properties too.

This season, two new cast members have been introduced to The Oppenheim Group, one being the ridiculously glamorous Emma Hernan. And almost immediately, she began trending on Google. 'Emma Selling Sunset boyfriend', 'Emma Leigh Selling Sunset business' and 'How old is Emma Selling Sunset?' are all breakout search terms.

So, who is Emma Hernan?

Emma Hernan is 30-year-old and was born in a quaint beach town - Scituate, Massachusetts. When she’s not filming Selling Sunset, she splits her time living between California and Massachusetts, with a home in Boston and Los Angeles. When she spoke with Women’s Health earlier this month, she shared that she only ever flies privately, so her dog - a four-year-old Akita mix called Benny - can travel alongside her.

She also told Women’s Health that her career - and lavish lifestyle - started when she began investing in the stock market as a teenager and now dabbles in cryptocurrency, saying she had a strong work ethic from the beginning.

Doing a mixture of jobs from modelling to babysitting and working in customer service, she would take her earnings and invest them in the stock market straight away. When she was 15 she was already earning so much money that she was able to cover all employees’ pay at her parent’s seafood business when they needed it. ‘When I see a company I believe in, I’ll invest in that company. I invest in companies I think will make a difference in the world,’ she said.

What is Emma Hernan's vegan business?

Before the Coronavirus pandemic started, Emma launched her own food business, following in her parents’ footsteps. She mentions this in her first episode of Selling Sunset, describing the brand as her ‘food empire’. Emma Leigh and Co is a plant-based wholesaler providing coffees, cookies, spring rolls and empanadas with a variety of flavours. There are even what looks like a plant-based alternative to a pop tart available.

Judging by the official Instagram, the business appears to be back to regularly scheduled programming, and you can pick up Emma’s vegan treats at the store if you ever swing by Los Angeles.

How did Emma Hernan become a realtor?

Emma was introduced to the Oppenheim Group through the brothers behind the name, Jason and Brett Oppenheim. They were her real estate agents, helping her to purchase her first home. But once they’d found the perfect place for her, she found herself scouting to find new ones, so real estate was the obvious direction for her to move in.

While they were attending open houses to find her own property, she realised she loved them, and that she could pick up on the sales lingo quickly. Emma shared with Women’s Health that the two brothers then encouraged her to get her real estate license, telling her she was ‘too good at this.’

She got her license at their recommendation back in 2018 and joined The Oppenheim Group not long after. The brothers have helped her purchase several investment properties since then.

Does Emma Hernan have a boyfriend?

Currently, Emma is single according to an interview with PEOPLE earlier this year. But that hasn't stopped her getting involved in some serious romantic drama on the show, apparently sharing an ex-boyfriend with Christine Quinn.

Emma and Christine's feud: Do they have the same ex?

The drama has started early for Emma. Before filming, she already had a long-standing feud with Christine Quinn. The tension between the two boils down to the fact they were apparently dating the same person... at the same time. Yikes.

And the two, of course, have different versions of what really went down. On the show, Emma said ‘I found out about [Christine] the day that I met her. It was not pleasant. I was leaving the gym with who I thought was my boyfriend and she pulled up with her friend and was like "Who the f*** is this?" and started screaming "This is my boyfriend"'

While Christine tells it this way: ‘My ex-boyfriend was dating this girl at the same time he was dating me. I had no idea. I caught him red-handed during the day with her. So we broke up. I know this happened years and years ago, but this is all coming back to life now because I wasn't aware Mary continued her friendship with Emma after the cheating came out.’

And now, she’s the new realtor on the block taking over a few of Christine’s listings and is set to take her desk. This can’t go well.

With all this in the air, some co-stars are already not sure about Emma, but she’s confident she can handle it. Speaking on the show, she said firmly ‘I’m here to work, and hopefully all this high school drama that I’ve dealt with for years can be like Christine - out of mind.’
