It's been three years since the TV adaption of Dolly Alderton's bestselling book Everything I Know About Love was released. And now, she is treating us to a brand new adaption of Pride and Prejudice.
Yep, that's right. Jane Austen's notorious love story is getting a millennial spin. Dolly is producing the show alongside director Euros Lyn, who was the brains behind teen romance Heartstopper, with production for the show officially underway. And this couldn't be more timely. The book celebrates the 250th anniversary of the author’s birthday, and its popularity is only increasing among a new generation of Austen fans.
In a first glimpse of the show, Netflix has revealed a photograph and also the supporting cast members. 'Once in a generation, a group of people get to retell this wonderful story and I feel very lucky that I get to be a part of it,' Alderton said in a statement. 'Jane Austen’s Pride and Prejudice is the blueprint for romantic comedy – it has been a joy to delve back into its pages to find both familiar and fresh ways of bringing this beloved book to life.'
