You might think you know Demi Lovato as a popstar and formerDisney Channel star{ =nofollow}. But let us reintroduce you: they're now an alien expert. Demi has now turned their hand to a new talent, and a new TV series will see the singer explore the wild world of UFOs. Well, we guess it's another unique credit to add to their CV.

In upcoming series Unidentified, Demi, their sister Dallas, and their BFF Matthew will turn Louis Theroux as they investigate secret government reports, and interview eyewitnesses to sightings. The four episodes will drop on Peacock at the end of this month - and, we can't lie, we're curious.

Given the synopsis of the show, it's hardly surprising that Demi has recently claimed they actually had a casual encounter with aliens while promoting the show. 'We went out into the desert in Joshua Tree [California] and I basically saw this blue orb that was about 50 feet away, maybe less, and it was kind of like floating above the ground, just like 10 or 15 feet, and it was kind of keeping its distance from me,' the star told E! News’ Daily Pop, before adding, 'it was a beautiful and incredible experience.'

This isn't Demi's first encounter with aliens, though, as they told Entertainment Weekly their first contact with extraterrestrials was at their 28th birthday while they were stargazing, which they said changed their life in a 'spiritual way' and inspired them to film the series.

In case you were in any doubt, Demi thinks very highly of aliens, and they say they'd love to be able to shake hands with them. (And probably invite them to a dinner party, too.) 'The feeling that you get from these beings is so warm and loving and accepting that it's just overwhelming joy that happens when you're able to make contact,' they explained to the outlet. 'When I say make contact, I just mean intentionally try to meditate and try to manifest sightings. It's not that I'm actually, like, shaking hands with these beings — although I would love that. I think these beings are extremely peaceful and loving and when they show up, you can absolutely feel that concept.'

Demi actually believes aliens have our 'best interests at heart' and that they actually want to save us from destorying our planet. 'If they wanted to hurt us, they would've hurt us,' they said. 'Honestly, what people don't realise is when we send out nuclear waste into our atmosphere, it doesn't just stay there. It goes out into the universe. Nuclear waste goes out into other possible civilizations. So I think that we have to be careful of what we're doing on this planet, and I think that they're just looking out for us.'

Unidentified With Demi Lovato airs on September 30 on Peacock.
