When it first aired in the UK in April 2023, Colin From Accounts quickly became the show that everybody was talking about and while Patrick Brammall and Harriet Dyer are incredible as Gordon and Ashley, fans can’t stop talking about Colin AKA the border terrier who was run over by Gordon, bringing Gordon and Ashley together.

Now that the show has returned to the BBC for a second season, it means Colin has too. Don't worry, after a worrying first season finale, Colin is back in safe (or not so safe) hands with Gordon and Ashley.

Disclaimer: No dogs were harmed in the making of this series! And Colin isn’t actually disabled in a real life, just an incredibly good actor.

If you need something to ‘awwww’ at a wheelchair-bound Colin ought to do it. Nothing quite tugs at your heartstrings like that.

One viewer even felt the need to write into The Guardian and remind them that their review of the show had failed to mention Colin. They commented, ‘What a pity that Lucy Mangan’s review of Colin From Accounts failed to mention the star of the show – Colin himself, a border terrier. As a border terrier owner, and moderator of the Devon Border Terrier Owners Facebook group, I was amazed at Colin’s acting skills – so unlike the breed as I know it.’

Colin is played by Zac and Buster Fedderson (two dogs) who came to be stars of the small screen because their owner, Kirsten Fedderson trains animals for a living, working with all animals under the sun including a tapir for a camera advertisement and Australian ravens.

In fact, people seem to love Colin so much that independent brewer Hop Nation has created a beer for dogs called Colin’s Pale Ale. Don’t worry, it’s non alcoholic, instead it’s essentially a beef bone broth ‘with hoppy afternotes’ so essentially soup in a can.

Speaking about the creation, the executive Tom Wenborn says, ‘Ryan Reynolds has his Gin, Kate Hudson has her Vodka, The Rock has his Tequila… It’s only fitting that the biggest star of Australia’s latest comedy hit, Colin, gets his own beer. We’ve loved the opportunity to collaborate with BINGE, Hop Nation and Google to create some puppy-centric measured magic.’

Check out the Australian series on BBC 2. There are two seasons of eight episodes each to catch up on. You're welcome, mate!
