Christina Hendricks From Mad Men Is In The American Beauty Poster

In mind-blowing Friday afternoon news, it transpires that Christina Hendricks is part of one of one of the most famous movie posters of all time.

Even if you were a small child when the film came out, you probably remember the American Beauty film poster, featuring a hand holding a rose on a naked torso, a reference to a scene which takes place later in the narrative.

Shockingly (okay, not shockingly) the hand on the poster doesn't belong to the film's star Mena Suvari, nor does the torso.

Explaining what happened, Christina wrote on Instagram: 'Fun fact.... wait for it...I used to be a model and sometimes a hand model.... this is my hand and another model’s stomach....proud to be a part if this film in ANY WAY!!! '

Turns out you can't find someone with a torso and fingers that perfect in one body. Talk about unrealistic beauty standards for women, eh?

The film also starred Kevin Spacey who isn't anyone's favourite actor anymore. But the less said about that the better.

Still. A fun chapter of unknown celebrity film history.
