The Celebrity X Factor Starts On October 12th And The Line-Up Is Gloriously Bonkers

Unfortunately, we will now be saying goodbye to Saturday night plans for the foreseeable future.

A few years ago, X Factor genuinely used to be the pinnacle of Saturday night television, giving birth to UK music stars like One Direction, Matt Cardle (remember when it was revealed that Meghan Markle had been DMing him before she met Harry{ =nofollow}) and Olly Murs. (We can't forget Jedward, either.)

But we’ll be honest: the last time we seriously cared about the show was the year pop queens Little Mix were victorious in 2011. Or, at a stretch, maybe we officially stopped giving a shit the following year, when James Arthur was crowned champion.

With falling ratings, Simon Cowell knows X Factor isn’t the hit it used to be, which is why he’s given the series a refresh. A lot of the time a format change takes a beloved show and makes it worse, but honestly there's a reason Si is so successful. The update is GENIUS.

This year, the talent show boss has enlisted a group of celebrities - who according to the trailer are not known for their singing talent (even though said line-up quite literally, includes Artie from Glee, a show entirely about singing) - to compete for a record contract.

Admittedly it's not an unprecedented move - Celebrity Big Brother was invented to breathe life into Big Brother - we're still more excited about this than we'd like to admit.

From the look of this totally bonkers line-up, we could be glued to our TVs for Saturday nights to come. Read on to find out who's going to be judged by Simon Cowell, Louis Walsh and Nicole Scherzinger.

The show starts on the 12th October and it's the perfect reason to order a pizza, get a blanket on the sofa and become entirely sedentary every Saturday night until Christmas. Going out is massively overrated.

Introducing the line up for the all new, Celebrity XFactor.
