Celebrity Bear Hunt has only just landed, but already we're hooked. If I'm a Celeb taught us anything, it's that throwing lots of celebrities in far-off locations and putting them through their paces is a tried and tested formula for good TV, and this series proves no exception.

The eight-part series, starring Bear Grylls and hosted by Holly Willoughby follows the celebrities after they are dropped into the middle of the jungle, where they must endure a series of gruelling physical and mental challenges, while trying to outsmart Bear Grylls in the race to the finish line.

Among the celebrities being put through their paces are Mel B, Boris Becker, Big Zuu, Laurence Llwelyn-Bowen and Shirley Ballas. So far in the show, we've seen beautiful blue lagoons, scary bugs, mysterious noises and plenty of luscious rainforest. But where exactly are the celebrities being put through their paces?

What is the filming location for Celebrity Bear Hunt?

Well, Netflix hasn't released the exact filming locations for Celebrity Bear Hunt. We do know it's filmed in Costa Rica in South America, a country that is filled with rainforest. In fact, around half of Costa Rica is made up of rainforests. Around 25% of this is protected. The Independent reports that one possible filming location could be Corcovado National Park, a remote rainforest which is home to lots of wildlife, including birds, monkeys and wildcats, and located on the remote Osa Peninsula on the southwest coast of Costa Rica.

However, we do know that the show has created a specially built escape room, called 'The Bear Pit.' This is where contestants will be tracked down by none other than Bear Grylls. Laurence Llewelyn-Bowen, Leomie Anderson, Mel B and Steph McGovern were the first celebrities to be caught by Bear, which saw them become the first group of people to enter the dreaded Bear Pit. The 12 celebrities are also living together in close quarters, meaning it's very likely that tension will arise, especially with 24/7 cameras capturing their every move.

Ahead of the show, Grylls forbiddingly predicted 'I have done many wild things in my life but I have never hunted celebrities. The celebrities won't come out of this the same.'
