They've gone and released another Cats trailer, and yes, it is absolutely as bonkers as the previous one. If not more bonkers. Why do they have human teeth? Why do they have human boobs?
The trailer for the upcoming film dropped earlier this year - and, well, we still have a lot of unanswered questions. Including why have so many celebrities - like James Corden, Judi Dench, Idris Elba and Taylor Swift - have agreed to have themselves transformed into these scary (and half-arsed) CGI creatures.
We can kind of understand why Dame Judi has got involved. She was originally cast in 1981’s stage show - but just before they were due to open she snapped her Achilles, and couldn't perform, so this is the ultimate (quite slow burn) do-over.
Taylor Swift is starring as Bombalurina and Idris will play the great Macavity, alongside the other famous felines. And Jennifer Hudson is singing Memory, which is probably the only song you know from the show.
The movie - based on Andrew Lloyd Webber’s Broadway classic - is being directed by Tom Hooper, who directed The King’s Speech and the 2012 Oscar-winning Les Misérables.

As writer Clemtine Ford said, ‘The trailer for the new #Cats film looks like they just ran that 2012 cat face filter over it and said, sure.’ 'I thought I was afraid of climate change but it turns out my greatest fear is men and women dressed up as cats thinking they are cats and singing as cats in catsuits,' Aisling Bea added. Anna Kendrick is kinda relieved about the shambles, though. 'My favorite thing about the #Cats trailer is that it didn’t awaken anything (new) in me, sexually,' she tweeted. 'So. Phew.'
Cats is in cinemas December 20 2019 - and, somehow, we think we can wait that long.
