You really thought that the Love Is Blind UK drama would end after the reunion earlier this week? Of course not! If anything, the drama has escalated more than we ever could have imagined.
First Sabrina Egerton and Steven Smith announced that they had split – and have since gone on to slag each other off in interviews. Then Demi Brown admitted that she was no longer friends with Jasmine Chamberlain over Ollie Sutherland’s new relationship with co-star Sharlotte Ritchie. Honestly, it’s all been kicking off.
And it turns out that Ollie and Sharlotte aren’t the only Love Is Blind UK pairing that have started dating since the Netflix reality show stopped filming because Catherine Richards – who was engaged to Freddie Powell on the show – has revealed that she’s in a relationship with her Love Is Blind UK co-star Jake Singleton-Hill.
The dancer revealed the exciting news in an Instagram post consisting of footage of the pair accompanied by a sweet caption.
She wrote, ‘Find someone who loves you for you. The hardest secret I kept! I got my happy ending - who knew that one date in the pods would lead to this? Thank you for being my best friend and the best partner a girl could ask for. Thank you for loving me for who I am and understanding me as a person. I can’t wait to continue doing life with you and having you by my side every day. Love is blind.’
Now you’d be forgiven for not remembering Jake on Love Is Blind UK because the civil engineer didn’t exactly get a lot of screen time over the 12 episodes. Although apparently he did get engaged to someone else from the pods, but their love story didn’t make it onto the show.
News of the pair’s relationship first broke at the reunion when Freddie said, ‘Not long after me and Cat broke up, she started dating somebody from the pods. So that was difficult.’
In an interview with the Bailiwick Express, Catherine then revealed ‘I am with someone from the pods. I’m with a guy with a dog, and the dog lives with us’. She later admitted that they had been together for a year.
She continued, ‘His journey was very rough in there, like, the way he was treated, but I reached out to him. I hadn’t seen him — because I had only seen Freddie and the couples on the retreat — [then] I saw him on socials and I was like, “Oh, that Jake! I wonder if he’s the one from the show?”’
And, as all modern love stories start, she slid into his DMs.
Catherine shared, ‘[At first,] he was like, “Wait, aren’t you married?” I was like, “Funny story,” because obviously [it] was what would have been two weeks after that. So, I was like, “Well, no,” and then we FaceTimed. We were on FaceTime for about five hours that evening and then we spoke every day for five weeks.’
